Hi Joanne, Since we are not a gluten-free facility, and make lots of things with wheat flour, we cannot claim any product gluten-free, however, we do make two types of cookies without any wheat flour in the ingredients: Rustic Walnut (a sort of "trail-mix" cookie made with almond meal, dried cherrie, walnuts and chocolate chips), and Earthquake Cookies (a fudgie crackle-top cookie also made with almond meal instead of wheat flour). Thanks for your inquiry!
No, but some of their bread is vegan.
High quality bread :) And the almond croissant is delicious!
Absolutely fantastic food and fantastic people. While the place may be hard to find, it is worth it. The wide variety of breads and pastries are unlike anything else you may find in Rochester. The service is happy to answer any questions you have and will help you find exactly what it is you want. While the prices might be higher than what you will find at your local grocery baking section, the quality far outweighs this. So if you're looking for a nice quiet breakfast or if you're making a special dinner and need something nice to go with it, try Give Thanks Bakery. Also the croissants are outrageously good.
Old world breads, pastries, scones, & croissants.
The best breads? Give Thanks BakeryThe handsdown best place for tarts?Give Thanks bakery
So happy to pick my order this morning. Not only the aroma from the bag delighted me but the “Heavenly Bread” was a wonderful surprise! Thank you ....and by the way it was truly a taste of heaven!
This bakery is full of delicious treats. My friend introduced me to this place and I am loving it here. Recently we got a kalamata bread and it was yum. My friends were visiting from out of state and we bought a variety of treats to their kids. I will recommend this place to everyone out there who is looking for something scrumptious in this fall weather to cheer them up with a cuppa.
Love their pastries! A must try
Fresh, authentic, delicious Almond Crossiant and pastries..less sitting place. Parking and entry from back ( not on main Street) limited seating options.
Awesome place. Very good bakery. The manager was very nice and gave me a lot of info on different types of bread. I will definitely come back here again. :)
Place is pretty pricey for regular people that don't usually shop in Rochester hills. Very very very good products though and is worth every penny.
The almond croissant was amazing and the staff was cheerful and friendly. I'm giving thanks to my friend who introduced me to this delightful gem in downtown Rochester
The best coffee in town, the best pastries and desserts as well! This is my hiding spot when I want a treat to enjoy a book. They only have an indoor area with three tables and one bench. The service is fantastic, I always have a nice conversation with the ladies and feel like at home. I wish there was more space to sit as it is so popular, but I will continue coming as long as I live nearby.
Everything is fresh, and it's all amazingly good!
Really Yummy croissants! Such a cute little place.
Phenomenal pastries! I went and got one of everything basically and literally everything was fantastic. It’s a little hard to find behind Main Street, but its a cute euro-style bakery with plenty of great things to try. Croissants a must try.
Delishous baked goods, friendly service and tranquil atmosphere. It's their 19th anniversary today!
Beautiful local European bakery. The staff makes the customer feel special and greeted from the moment you walk in the door. The selection is wide and ambience is cozy. I'd recommend the almond croissant, fresh fruit tart and the asiago cheese garlic bread. Everything is a must try at this place. The prices are budget friendly and quality is fresh. They will probably run out of stalk if you get there late which shows they only sell things made fresh early morning. I went in there first time and felt like I'm like their most regular customers. Don't miss out on this hidden gem just because it's easy to miss. Entrance is on the back of mainstream right across the parking lot. I'll definitely be a regular customer here now.
Best lemon tarts!
What a lovely place! EVERYTHING is delicious and the workers are wonderful. I went once and have been back many times. HIGHLY Recommended!
Melt-in-your-mouth Cranberry Walnut Scones! Delicious breads, cakes, and pastries too. And the friendliest employees around!
Love stopping by for no particular reason. I'm always pleased with what I take home. The list of businesses that use their bake goods are quite impressive. We used some for our daughter's wedding and were thankful for having them.
Caffè italiano in Michigan! thanks to Alice for her courtesy and kindness
Love the croissants!! The cookies and the bread are wonderful too. The staff is very nice and helpful. Love this Rochestet treasure!
They have forgotten that customers have put then where they are, specially the baker/owner. Literally he ask us to leave cauae we had been there 20 minutes and he wanted to sit other couple. This is a tiny place, literally thre tiny tables. They offer almost everyrhing to go. But they offer coffe and croissants etc. They even offer a refill of your coffee... When I said, hay i havent even finished my coffee; he said oh, we are not a restaurant... THEN DONT OFFER "SITTING" nor a refill.
Through a sequence of events we found ourselves without a cake the weekend before our wedding. Give Thanks came through for us in a major way by making us a small but magnificent cake (despite having several key pastry people on vacation)! We are forever grateful for their help! A pic from our photographer below. Great people and a wonderful bakery! I'm particularly fond of their almond croissants.
This place is a great bakery and also a good spot for a coffee and pastry after shopping downtown. They have great bread as well as a wide variety of tasty pastries. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is not very much seating (a few four person tables), but it has a great atmosphere. We also liked the strong German influence, and we have even heard a few people ordering in German.
Authentic European bakery using real ingredients for their delicious treats.
We stumbled upon this place strolling in the Rochester downtown while we waited for a seat in another restaurant. I probably have had one of the best croissants here, in and around metro Detroit. The hot-cross buns were really tasty too. The staff was very friendly. I would definitely go to this place when i am in the area.
Ok, off topic. I'm in Germany for the first time right now hoping I could find a bakery as good as Give Thanks. I have not yet. Been to 4 different bakeries that on Yelp were supposedly authentic and great. So far, Give thanks is the best in the world as far as I'm concerned 😁
It's ok nothing special they have a spinach feta crossant that's pretty good
A hidden gem tucked behind Main Street. This bakery offers the best sweets and breads in town. The baguettes are freshly made and soft and perfect for wine and cheese or anything you like all of the pastries are divinely delicious and often they make special holiday treats so head in early to get the sweet hot treats before they sell out trust me it happens a lot just try the almond croissants!!!
This is my favorite cafe in Rochester. Delicious pastries and baked goods, simple but delicious coffee menu, small, quaint, quiet and very family friendly which is what I love about this place. It reminds me of a small traditional european cafe and I love that it doesn't have a super trendy modern high pace vibe. Kind of feels like a hole in the wall cafe which is also what makes it special. I just wish they expanded the business hours because they seem to be closed early and often..
Absolutely amazing! Highest quality of products and services. Taste of home, taste of Europe... I'm very thankful for this place.
Best bread anywhere
My favorite little spot tucked away in downtown Rochester. It is small and quaint but the pastries are delicious, the staff are very friendly, and their cappucinos are just as/if not better than an artisan coffee shop. This is a gem in Rochester
Great coffee and even better baked goods.
We recently got a galette des Rois (Epiphany cake with a gold crown) here and it was exceptionally delicious and pretty!
I have eaten here many times and have never had anything that was short of exceptional! The staff is friendly, patient and welcoming. This place has quickly become my favorite place for a Saturday morning latte and fresh fruit tart. If you've never been, stop by and experience a little piece of Europe right here in Rochester, MI. You won't be disappointed!
Old fashioned way of making pastries I highly recommend
A TRUE bakery in every regard. Soulful, familial, delicious. Can't recommend enough.
Cozy cafe area to enjoy a coffee or tea and baked good, while chatting with a friend or two. To me, this is the best bakery in southeast Michigan.
They would donate their baked goods to the Christ Church Cranbrook coffee hour about one or two Sunday's a month. It wasn't as good as the rest of the reviews. All you could taste was an imitation butter and nothing else. You can't expect too much for nothing and I don't believe it was their best work. I gave it two stars since they were nice to donate their coffee cakes and rolls and I didn't hear about anybody (including myself) getting sick eating it. I probably won't be heading over there in my retirement years.
Wow, what a nice place. Delightful food and atmosphere
Best Coffee and Croissants. The staff is super friendly. One of my favorite places in town
Best. Food. Ever. Get all your baked stuff here.
They make the most amazing pastries. Wonderful place and very friendly service.
I felt like I was in Paris. The almond croissant was amazing and the staff was cheerful and friendly. I'm giving thanks to my friend who introduced me to this delightful gem in downtown Rochester
A few years ago I went here and was unimpressed. The owner responded to my review and I happened to be in the area so I decided to give them another go. I had a sample of a dessert item and I got a roll. I would recommend this bakery for non-desert items mostly. The desert selection is a little bit better at the Home Bakery in my opinion. Friendly service.
Real bread. Great atmosphere. The best! :)
The passion fruit torte I bought today is amazing! Bravo!
